This page provides a walkthrough of the extra missions in Far Cry 2 that are unlocked through the Promotional Content menu. Refer to the Game Mechanics page for information on how to unlock these missions.
So far I've only done four of the missions myself; for some reason, I had problems getting the third mission in Leboa-Sako to appear, and I eventually just moved on to Bowa Seko where the fourth mission was triggered. Hopefully I'll get a chance to revisit an earlier savegame and complete all the extra missions in Far Cry 2.After you receive your first mission, you'll notice a "letter icon" in the eastern part of the south-eastern region; it's at the broken down bus that also has both a diamond briefcase and a Jackal Tape near it, on the border to the desert. Head there and locate the letter sitting on a table along with some health supplies, ammunition and a Flare Pistol. Once you pick up the letter, a white marker will appear at PetroSahel in the north-western region. There is a Bus Stop nearby your current position, so use that to quick travel to the destination region and use the nearby Buggy to make the final stretch go faster. There is a handful of enemies at PetroSahel, including a sniper positioned on top of one of the large fuel tanks. There are a number of different approaches that work well here; if you didn't bring a sniper rifle for example, you can take out the sniper first and use his rifle to take out the remaining enemies. You can also move in close to the fence (or approach from the western side of PetroSahel), and use that for cover against the sniper while you deal with the other enemies. The building may also be an excellent place to take care of enemies without having to worry about the sniper. Once you've dealt with the enemies, move over to the western side of the area. Inside one of the shipping containers there you can find a body with a predecessor tape next to it. Pick up the tape - it sounds like your predecessor was very keen on locating the Jackal, as he was cutting off the fingers of the Georgian informant. Picking up the tape wraps up this mission. The next mission will not be available right away - however, you don't actually get a notification when it does... just be sure to check your map once in a while and look out for another "letter icon". |

Once again you should notice a letter icon on your map; I'm not sure if the location is random or not, but when the mission became available the letter was located in the exact same spot as the last one. When you pick up the letter, a white marker will appear at the Airfield in the southern region. I reckon the fastest way there is probably to just follow the desert to the south and then west - this way you'll also avoid enemies and checkpoints. There are about five or six enemies at the Airfield - one of them, a sniper, is stationed at the observation post on the eastern side of the area. Taking him out first can be a good idea, and you can then use the position there to take out most of the remaining enemies; if you bring a sniper rifle (or temporarily switch to the one from the enemy), or possibly a grenade or rocket launcher, picking the rest of the enemies off should be fairly trivial. Once you've thinned them out, move on in and deal with any remaining enemies. The tape you're after is located in the eastern hangar - you'll find it sitting on a stripped down bed inside. As you'll learn from the tape, your predecessor was using the informants to get closer to the Jackal, killing them off if they wouldn't provide any information. He hoped that eventually one of them would seek out the Jackal for help. You'll receive the next phone-call some time after you reach Bowa Seko. |

The letter for this mission is appropriately located at the Post Office in the western region. This area has plenty of enemies in it, and there are also numerous vehicles patrolling in the surrounding areas. The letter is located inside the main building, so you'll likely have to fight your way to it. A sniper rifle and possibly a grenade launcher will work wonders here, just make sure you also bring a weapon for dealing with close encounters. Once the area is clear, head inside the building and pick up the letter. Your next target is located at Sepoko in the north-eastern region. While there are a similar amount of enemies at Sepoko, there is both a sniper and one wielding a rocket launcher among them. Dealing with them from a distance is not only a good approach, it's also very advisable since you can easily get surrounded if you move in too quickly. As with the previous area, both a sniper rifle and a grenade (or rocket) launcher is excellent for thinning them out. Once the area is clear you can locate the predecessor tape underneath the observation post in the north-western part of Sepoko. The tape indicates that the informants were extremely loyal towards the Jackal as the frenchman turned down every offer your predecessor made in exchange for information. As with the second mission, the next mission won't be available straight away - just be sure to check your map once in a while to see when the next letter icon appears. |

As with the previous mission, the letter is located at the Post Office in the western region. Since you've already been to this area and dealt with the enemies here before, simply rinse and repeat if your last strategy worked out. See the description in the previous mission for my personal hints and tips on how to approach this area. Once you have the letter, your next stop is at Bowaseko Brewing Co. in the southern region. If you approach Bowaseko Brewing Co. from the west, be aware that there is an enemy with a mortar positioned on an island north-east of M-S Pipeline; while you'll often get warned of an incoming shell (watch out for yellow smoke!), he can fire over quite long ranges and he'll keep firing even when you're out of his sight. A good approach is to head inside the mansion as soon as possible - there you'll be safe from the mortar fire, and you can deal with any enemies without having to worry about getting surrounded. The enemies at the area are pretty standard fare, armed with assault rifles and shotguns. Once you've dealt with them, locate the tape on a small couch inside the mansion on the ground floor. This tape reveals that while your predecessor was tracking the Jackal, he was actually being tracked himself... it's not sure by whom, though. |
